Switching from the automatic to semi-automatic and then to the manual mode requires that you understand the effects of the settings in your camera.
The making of a picture is based on 3 settings. While composing the picture and deciding what you would like to include or exclude in the picture as well as how you want your subject to relate to its environment, you will have to determine how to set your ISOs, Aperture (F number) and Shutter Speed. The three settings have a relationship with the amount (quantity) of light that impacts your sensor and ultimately how bright is your picture. But these three settings also affect how (quality) the light gets to the sensor and can change an image in its entirety.
